Dental Crowns in Covina, CA

People who work in the entertainment industry as actors, models, or television personalities depend on their looks to make a living. They need to keep up their appearance, from their hair down to their shoes, including their teeth. To improve the appearance of their teeth, some actors or models may cap them using dental crowns.

How Do Dental Crowns Improve Teeth?

Crowns fit over teeth to hide their flaws or change their appearance. The crowns will cover those flaws if an actor was once an athlete and has chipped or cracked teeth.

All-porcelain or porcelain-fused with gold crowns look the most like natural teeth, and make sure to match the shade with your tooth’s color. Light reflects off of porcelain, just the way it reflects off of the enamel on your teeth.

To cover up cosmetic imperfections or large cavities, tooth crowns can strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure. Cosmetic dental crowns are also used in other restorative dental procedures such as bridges and implants.

Caring For Dental Crowns

It would help if you cared for your crowns as you care for your natural teeth. Brush twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Floss between them daily to remove food particles to prevent cavities from forming, causing root surface decay and periodontal disease.

Also, visit our dentist twice a year in Covina, CA, for examinations and cleanings. Although crowns cannot develop cavities, your gums can become infected, and the roots can get cavities at or under the gum line. Cavity-causing bacteria can reach the tooth’s pulp or the bone that supports your tooth. With proper care, your teeth and gums should remain healthy.
